The most rose-colored and aromatic of the three Pinots in the lieu-dit collection, the NV Extra-Brut Mareuil sur Aÿ Sous Le Mont lifts from the glass with exotic aromatics and delicate fruit. Gracious and feminine in style, the Sous Le Mont nevertheless possesses terrific energy and cut. I am not sure there is much upside from cellaring bottles further, but this year's release is a big step up from some of the earlier versions.
