A mere 2000 bottles were produced of the 2009 Special Club, which consists of a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. It is a little restrained on the nose at first, but as it opens up, it teases and tempts as to just what’s waiting within. Oh, it is racy, with wonderful finesse and style from the Chardonnay component while the Pinot Noir has given structure and backbone which should see it develop wonderfully for many years. The wine develops and opens in the glass giving white floral and spice notes with great length and style. Ultra fine on the palate, showing the pedigree that you’d expect from a Special Club release. We were very fortunate in securing the last bottles available!
